Non-profit website design for education program

The non-profit SCBEST: Spartanburg County Bible Education in School Time came looking for a website design to appeal to the youth in their program but also have a professional look for parents and donors. The warm blue-green color palette is youthful and soothing. The multiple split panes provide a slightly unconventional appearance but divide the space harmoniously.

Steve Hong Design built this website on the popular WordPress.com blogging platform but tuned it to feel like a website instead of a blog. Expert CSS customization provided by Steve Hong Design made this website design unique even though it was built on a pre-built “theme.”

Using WordPress.com provides the client with an inexpensive content management system (CMS) that is easy to use. The client now has 24/7 access to update the site text and graphics from any Internet-connected computer. There are copious help documents on the WordPress website, and it shouldn’t be hard to find other bloggers/web designers familiar with WordPress to continue future development. Finally, although the basic features of WordPress.com should meet all the current needs of this client, when the organization needs to grow into something with much more customization, it’s easy to export the site and move it to the full-featured WordPress.org platform.
